FAQ
QUESTIONS? WE HAVE THE ANSWERS!
-
What is CrossFit?There are a lot of misconceptions about CrossFit, but you can’t really know what it’s like until you’ve tried it for yourself. All you need to know before you start is that we support each other, we work hard, and we have fun doing it.
-
Do I have to be in shape to start? The short answer is NO! Crossfit is scalable to anyone’s ability, no matter their fitness level or what exercise they are doing. Everybody has to start somewhere, and our gym is full of people of all shapes and sizes.
-
Are the workouts safe?Yes, all the exercises we do are safe and correlate with real life tasks outside the gym. For example, when you stand up from a chair, you’re doing a squat! We also have trained and qualified coaches on staff to make sure you always get a safe and effective workout.
-
Will I have to stop eating my favorite foods? While we encourage eating a diet of healthy, nutrient-dense foods, we also understand that balance is important. We want you to enjoy life and all its celebrations, just remember that you are always only one meal away from being back on track!
-
What kind of exercises can I expect during a workout? Our program consists primarily of functional movements, which are natural, powerful, and utilize the full body. Perhaps most importantly, they are uniquely effective at improving your fitness! If you come to our gym, you’ll likely see exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups, squats, presses, cleans, running, rowing, and jumping rope.
-
How long is a typical CrossFit class? Most of our group classes last one hour, which includes briefing the workout, warming up, practicing technique, working out, and cooling down. All of this is done under the guidance of an attentive coach who respects the value of your time.
-
How often should I come to the gym? This can vary based on your experience with exercise, but we usually recommend that new members attend at least 3 classes per week. Paired with proper sleep and nutrition habits, our veteran athletes often average 4 to 5 sessions each week to maximize their progress.
-
How long does it take to see results?Although this depends on each individual, most people notice improvements within one or two months of starting CrossFit. These changes include better breathing, increased flexibility, decreased body fat, increased strength, and improved biomarkers such as blood pressure or blood glucose levels.
